Starting the replacement process of valve Rocker Arm and push rods requires removing the valve Rocker Arm cover. The valve rocker arms as well as pushrods and pivot support must be kept in a rack to guarantee correct original installation positioning. You should first remove the valve Rocker Arm bolts and afterward take out all valve rocker arms, pivot support and pushrods. Thoroughly clean all valve rocker arms while performing an inspection on pushrods. Engine oil should be used as lubrication for valve rocker arms and pushrods during the installation process as well as for the flange of the valve Rocker Arm bolts. Begin by mounting the valve Rocker Arm pivot support before setting the pushrods into the valve lifter sockets properly while avoiding bolt tightening on the rocker arms at this time. Irrigate the rocker arms followed by bolting them into position. During the valve clearance adjustment, position the number one Piston at top dead center compression stroke so that cylinder number one rocker arms are not in their lift position while the
Crankshaft sprocket key rests at the 1:30 position. Tighten all Rocker Arm bolts at 30 n.m while the engine maintains its present position for cylinders 1, 2, 7, 8 exhaust and 1, 3, 4, 5 intake. Slowly turn the Crankshaft for a 360-degree rotation until you reach the final position of 1:30. Then torque all valve Rocker Arm bolts to specified tightness: 30 n.m (22 lb ft) for exhaust 3, 4, 5 and 6 and 30 n.m (22 lb ft) for intake 2, 6, 7 and 8. Place the valve Rocker Arm cover in its proper position as the last step.
