How to replace the idler arm on Chevrolet Express 2500?

The replacement of the idler arm starts with supporting a lifted vehicle. The idler arm to relay rod retaining nut must be removed before discarding it. The Ball Joint Remover (J 43631) will help disconnect the idler arm from the relay rod. The procedure starts by removing both idler arm to frame mounting bolts before pulling the idler arm from the vehicle. Initially install the idler arm to its position on the frame. Screw in the idler arm to frame mounting bolts before tightening them to 150 N.m (111 lb ft). Attach the idler arm to the relay rod and attach a new idler arm to relay rod retaining nut while torquing it to 63 N.m (47 lb ft). Perform a final procedure of vehicle lowering and inspect wheel alignment.
