How to Replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on a 2WD Vehicle for Output on Chevrolet Express 1500?

Before starting work to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) you must raise the vehicle. It applies only to two-wheel drive vehicles since four-wheel drive vehicles need to access the Transfer Case for sensor finding. Detach the output speed sensor electrical connector before unscrewing its bolt. Examine the output speed sensor and bracket unit for damage after removing them and their installation parts from the case. Before placing the output speed sensor with its bracket system you must apply automatic transmission fluid to the output speed sensor seal. Connect the output speed sensor electrical connector while torquing the bolt to 11 nm (96 inch lbs). Finally, lower the vehicle.
