The procedure requires you to arrange or identify the extracted components for their correct position during reassembly. Approach the valve lifter instillation process after thoroughly inspecting and cleaning them. To reuse valve lifters put them back into positions where they originally resided. Clean engine oil should be used to lubricate both valve lifters and engine block valve lifter bores before inserting valve lifters into the lifter guides where the flat areas on their tops must align with the flat areas in the lifter guide bore. Push the lifter until it reaches the entire guide bore before setting the valve lifters and guide into their respective positions in the engine block. Apply a torque of 12 nm (106 inch lbs.) when fastening the valve lifter guide bolt. Installation will conclude by putting on the Cylinder Head together with its gasket.
