How to replace the idler arm on Chevrolet Express 1500?

The vehicle needs to be elevated for idler arm replacement work. Discard the idler arm to relay rod retaining nut before proceeding to removal. Apply the Ball Joint Remover (J 43631) to disconnect the idler arm from its position on the relay rod. After raising and supporting the vehicle you should remove the idler arm to frame mounting bolts and extract the idler arm from the vehicle. Start installation by mounting the idler arm onto the frame while tightening the idler arm mounting bolts to 150 Nm (111 ft. lbs.). Connect the idler arm to the relay rod then fasten a new idler arm to relay rod retaining nut while torquing it to 63 Nm (47 ft. lbs.). Lower your vehicle and verify the wheel alignment after finishing your work.
