The replacement process for Hood Cable starts with opening the hood before removing the Hood Latch. Mark the location of the release cable structure within the engine compartment for later reinstallation before removing it from its place. Open the front row carpet access with removal of the left front carpet retainer to gain a view of the release handle. The Hood Latch handle up position should be reached by pulling the release handle while prying the handle slip at its front section to separate it from the hinge pillar. Extract the hood hinge cable grommet at the front dashboard then direct the cable out from the core support area. Attach the hood hinge cable and grommet from the dash front before inserting the hood release handle into the hinge pillar and connecting it securely. Apply the carpet into its proper position and reinstall the front carpet retainer. You should direct the Hood Cable through the body structure then set the Hood Latch followed by a verification check of the Hood Latch cable operation before putting the hood in its closed position.
