The first step to replace the exhaust gas recirculation valve requires disposal of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe followed by disconnecting the EGR Valve electrical connector. Start by disassembling the EGR Valve bolts before removing the EGR Valve followed by the removal of its gasket. Initiate EGR Valve mating surface cleaning before you apply both the new gasket and the valve to the Intake Manifold. Follow procedure by setting EGR Valve bolt torques at 30 nm (22 lb ft) and reconnect the EGR Valve electrical connector. The last step is to place back the egr pipe.
