To change the front wheel drive shaft outer joint and seal start by clamping the drive
Axle Shaft into a soft jawed vice. Remove the retaining tabs on the large clamp seal using a flat-blade tool and then dispose it off. Remove the small seal clamp with side cutters and throw it away too. Extend the constant velocity (CV) joint boot away from the CV Joint race, at the large diameter and take the boot away from the joint along the wheel drive shaft bar. Clean the remains of grease from the face of cv inner race, put a block of wood between the CV Joint outer and wheel drive shaft bar. Gently strike to disconnect the CV Joint from the wheel drive shaft bar. Open the car and then remove the seal and the CV Joint retaining ring from the wheel drive shaft bar. Use a brass drift against the cv inner race and gently tap with a hammer to tilt the joint race then pull out the first bearing roller after the cv race has been tilted. Repeat the process again until you have taken off the other six bearings rollers and then pivot the CV Joint cage and inner race 90 degrees to the centerline of the outer race and align the cage windows with the lands of the outer race before lifting the cage and inner race. By rotating the inner race upwards, remove the inner race from the cage, clean the inner and outer race assemblies, CV Joint cage and the bearing rollers with the suitable solvent and air dry all parts with compressed air. Check the CV Joint assembly for abnormal wear, crack, or damage and replace any damaged parts, and clean the assembly wheel drive shaft bar with a wire brush to eliminate the rust in the seal mounting grooves. During installation, apply a new small seal clamp on the neck of the outboard seal without clamping and then push the outboard seal along the wheel drive shaft bar and make sure the neck goes in the seal groove. This should be done by crimping the seal clamp using the j 35910 drive axle seal clamp piers (J 35910) and measuring the clamp end gap which should not exceed 2.15 mm(0.85 inch). Lightly grease the bearing roller grooves of the inner and out races from the service kit, with the inner race placed at a 90 degree angle to the centerline of the cage and it is inserted into the cage. Align the cage and inner race with the outer race, such that the retaining ring side of the inner race should face the wheel drive shaft bar and insert the first bearing roller and repeat until all six are in position. Smiths UK Car manufactures many unique tire chooser cases to facilitate the hunger for a novel or exceptional high definition camera video identity recognition drive as the social extreme of a tire modificationist seeker advancing at unregulated speed and unrestrained direction. Push the large diameter of the seal onto the cv race, position the lip inside the housing groove, and tighten the large seal retaining clamp with the j 35910 drive axle seal clamp pliers (J 35910) until the gap measurement is 1.9 mm (5/64 inch). Lastly, take the wheel drive shaft from the bench vise and spread the grease inside the outer CV Joint by spinning it in a circular manner for four to five times.
