Start by taking out the valve
Rocker Arm covers then arrange the valve rocker arms and pushrods alongside the pivot support on a rack for keeping their natural positions. The next step involves taking out all valve Rocker Arm bolts and the valve rocker arms simultaneously with the valve Rocker Arm pivot support before pulling the pushrods. The cleaning process should include valve rocker arms and pushrods which require clean engine oil lubrication while the bolt flange of the valve Rocker Arm needs attention during the application. Place the valve Rocker Arm pivot support before seating the pushrods within the valve lifter sockets and installing the pushrods so they rest correctly on the rocker arms but leave the Rocker Arm bolts untightened. After installing the rocker arms and bolts along with rotating the
Crankshaft to top dead center where the number one
Piston rests while also positioning off lobe lift for the cylinder number one rocker arms and setting the 1:30 position for the Crankshaft sprocket key with the alignment marks at 12 o'clock. For the number one firing position, torque exhaust Rocker Arm bolts 1, 2, 7, and 8 to 30 n.m (22 lb ft) alongside intake Rocker Arm bolts 1, 3, 4, and 5 at 30 n.m (22 lb ft). The technician must rotate the Crankshaft by 360 degrees before tightening exhaust valve Rocker Arm bolts (3, 4, 5, 6) to 30 n.m (22 lb ft) and intake valve Rocker Arm bolts (2, 6, 7, 8) to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Install the valve Rocker Arm covers as the last step.
