    Service and repair operations on the flexplate begin with disconnecting the negative cable from the battery followed by vehicle elevation for support. Start your work by disconnecting both Catalytic Converter and Starter motor components. Access the access plug in the driveline support assembly by using a flat bladed screwdriver. Assisted operation enables you to turn the engine Flywheel until a flexplate to Torque Converter bolt passes through the access opening where you have already made a matchmark between the transmission flexplate and Torque Converter. First install the Flywheel holding tool (J 42386-A) to block the Flywheel rotation after which you should remove the flexplate to Torque Converter bolt along with the tool. The same procedure should be performed with the remaining two bolts. Use a flat bladed screwdriver to remove the Torque Converter access plug before lining up the bolt holes of the Torque Converter. Additional assistance might be needed for rotating the Torque Converter through these access holes. Rotate the engine Flywheel slowly through the driveline support assembly access hole to match a flexplate bolt position with the Torque Converter bolt hole. Begin by using Flywheel holding tool (J 42386-A) to prevent Flywheel rotation during hand-starting the flexplate against Torque Converter bolts before tightening them to 63 nm (47 ft. Lbs.). Begin by removing the tool then rotate the Flywheel until proper hole alignment before performing installation for the remaining bolts. Reinstall the Torque Converter access plug followed by the driveline support assembly access plug and the Starter motor and the Catalytic Converter assembly. After reconnecting the negative Battery Cable users must tighten it to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) while programming the transmitters and performing an engine check for vibrations with necessary repairs.
