To change the Wiper Arm first turn Ignition Switch in the accy position and in the pulse position Wiper Switch. After placing the wiper arms in the innerwipe position and they are no longer moving, switch off the ignition. Separate the washer hose from the Wiper Arm, detach the cover from the nut and the nut itself from the Wiper Arm. Use Wiper Arm puller (J 39822) to draw the Wiper Arm from the wiper transmission drive shaft then drawn the
Wiper Blade away from the Wiper Arm. For installation, place Wiper Blade on Wiper Arm first, and then place the Wiper Arm onto the wiper transmission drive shaft. Once again, place the Ignition Switch in the accy position and the Wiper Switch in the pulse position to make sure that the windshield wiper system functions. Turn off the ignition, if the wipers are in the innerwipe position, and parked and not moving. Installing the Wiper Arm onto the wiper transmission drive shaft keeping the following distances: the driver side lh blade tip should be 47 mm (1.85 in) from the bottom of the windshield, and on the passenger side the rh Wiper Arm should be 90 mm (3.54 in) from the bottom of the windshield, with the measuring device held at 90 degrees to the Wiper Blade. Second, attach the Wiper Arm nut and tighten it to 30 n.m (22 lb ft), then, secure the washer hose to the Wiper Arm and cover the Wiper Arm nut.
