Chevrolet Classic Seat Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace the Seat Motor in a Power Seat on Chevrolet Classic?
    A:
Begin the horizontal actuator replacement process after positioning the front seat to its highest vertical slot which reveals the bolts on the horizontal actuator. Take out the front seat before continuing the replacement of the vehicle's horizontal actuator. The motor support bracket becomes removable before proceeding when the actuator is situated next to the horizontal motor. The oblong connector on the horizontal actuator requires equalization before you can remove the bolts which secure the horizontal actuator. You should remove the actuator from its position in the upper channel. Put the actuator once again into the upper area and then bolt the bolts to the horizontal actuator by tightening them to 11 N.m (97 lb in). The horizontal drive cable must be inserted into the actuator which requires applying pressure until a clear audible click is detected. Reinstallation of the motor support bracket must be followed by placing the front seat back into the vehicle.
