How to replace the Back Up Light Switch on Chevrolet Colorado?

The first step begins with vehicle height adjustment followed by position stabilization. Initially disconnect the back up lamp switch electrical connector at the pigtail then untie the strap securing the pigtail to the transmission. Disconnect the back up lamp switch by removing the aluminum washer at the same time. New aluminum washers need installation when mounting the back up lamp switch into the transmission case while using 44 nm (32 lb ft) torque. Use a tie strap to connect the pigtail to the transmission before reattaching the back up lamp switch electrical connector through the pigtail and then lower the vehicle down.

How to replace the Back Up Light Switch on Chevrolet S10?

You should start by raising and supporting the vehicle, then take off the back up lamp switch electrical connector and remove the switch. Make sure you notice the thread sealant that's already on the threads of the new back up lamp switch. Remember to tighten it to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.) before putting on the connector andlowering the vehicle.
