  Beneath a vehicle you must raise it and secure it before handling the Wheel Bearing in the front suspension. Take all components of the Wheel Hub including the bearing knuckle and brake shield together as one assembly. Position the knuckle assembly in a vise and take away the brake shield from the assembly. The j-36661-2 rod goes through the bearing 217801, the j-37105-1 bridge, hub, and dt-47540 adapter before you remove Wheel Hub components. Using the j 21474-01 tools install the j-21474-4 nut to the j-36661-2 rod before taking out the Wheel Hub and tools from the knuckle. You can remove the bearing race from the hub through the j 22912-b split plate and a hydraulic press before taking the retaining ring away from the knuckle. Run the j-36661-2 - (CH-46560-04) rod into 217801 - (CH-46560-06) (DW340-040-6) bearings, j-37105-1 - (CH-46560-01) (DW340-040-1) bridge, the Wheel Bearing, and the dt-47541 - (DW340-120-02) adapter. Use the j-36661-2 - (CH-46560-04) rod to install the j-21474-4 - (CH-46560-05) nut before removing the Wheel Bearing from the knuckle for discarding. Install new wheel bearings by cleaning the knuckle hole while holding the Steering Knuckle firmly in a vise. You must insert the j-36661-2 - (CH-46560-04) rod through the 217801 - (CH-46560-06) (DW340-040-6) bearing plus the dt-47543 - (DW-340-120-04) adapter followed by the Wheel Bearing then the dt-47542 - (DW340-120-03) adapter. Install the Wheel Bearing on its knuckle through the j-36661-2 - (CH-46560-04) rod and j-21474-4 - (CH-46560-05) nut. Put back the brake shield and install the retaining ring by taking the special tools off the knuckle. Push the j-36661-2 (CH-46560-04) rod from dt-47541 (DW340-120-02) downward through the hub parts dt-47540 (DW340-120-01) and 217801 (CH-46560-06) (DW340-040-6) bearing. Insert the nut to the j-36661-2 rod and connect the hub to the Wheel Bearing before taking off the special tools from the knuckle. Test the hub movement before reinstalling the Wheel Hub assembly and its components including bearing, knuckle and brake shield then lower the vehicle back into position.

  First detach the rear Wheel Speed Sensor when present then unscrew the Brake Drum. Take off the caulking nut using an unstake method. When pulling the Wheel Hub unit off the Spindle take note it may be difficult because the two center races might not fit properly. To put in the Wheel Bearing and hub assembly simply place it straight onto the Spindle while making sure the Wheel Bearing races are correctly aligned. Place and tighten the caulking nut onto the Spindle to 190 nm (140 lb ft) then perform staking on the nut. Reconnect the Brake Drum and Wheel Speed Sensor if it was equipped onto the vehicle.
