Begin hub and bearing replacement by first raising your vehicle and then removing the tire and wheel assembly. The procedure starts with disconnecting the outer tie rod from the
Steering Knuckle before removing the brake rotor. First slide off the axle nut dust cover followed by dislodging the wheel drive shaft retainer and cotter pin from the wheel drive shaft nut before finally removing the wheel drive shaft retaining nut. Separate the wheel drive shaft from the
Wheel Hub and bearing by using the axle remover (J 45859) before removing this assembly from the vehicle. After installation attach the new Wheel Hub and bearing onto the vehicle then torque the retaining bolts to 140 n.m (103 lb ft). After you install the retaining wheel drive shaft nut make sure to tighten it to 250 n.m (184 lb ft) and then add both the retainer and the cotter pin onto the wheel drive shaft nut. As the last step install the dust cap , then assemble the outer tie rod with the Steering Knuckle and brake rotor and tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle.
