To change the front brake hose, raise and support the vehicle, detaching the tire and wheel assembly. Clean all the dirt from brake hose end and brake pipe fitting and install a rubber cap or plug on the exposed end of brake pipe fitting to avoid any brake fluid leakage and contamination. Remove the brake fitting end of the brake pipe and cap it or plug it using a back up wrench on the brake hose end towards the fitting end of the pipe. Lose the brake hose retaining clip from the brake hose mounting bracket, brake hose bracket bolt from the upper
Control Arm and the
Steering Knuckle. Next, take off the brake hose to caliper bolt off the brake caliper and throw away the 2 copper brake hose gaskets. For installation, gather 2 new copper brake hose gaskets and the brake hose bolt on the brake hose, and install the brake hose to caliper bolt and 2 new washers to the brake caliper, tightening the bolt to 40 n.m(30 lb ft) while keeping the brake hose free of twist and contact with any suspension part. Put in the brake hose bracket bolt and the carriage to the Steering Knuckle and the upper Control Arm while tightening both the bolts to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Fitting the brake hose in the brake hose bracket and put on the brake hose retainer clip. Uncover rubber cap or plug on brake pipe fitting end and then attach brake pipe fitting end to brake hose using back up wrench attached to brake hose fitting end, and do not bend the mounting bracket or brake pipe, tighten brake pipe fitting end to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Bleed hydraulic brake system, install the tire and wheel assembly, make sure the brake hose does not come into contact with the suspension and tire/wheel assembly inspect brake hose during extreme right and left turns. Finally, lower the vehicle.
