The first step to replace the outer rear wheel steering Tie Rod End requires lifting the vehicle while simultaneously removing the tire and wheel. Start the installation by dismantling the Steering Knuckle tie rod bracket bolts followed by tie rod jam nut loosening and removal of the outer Tie Rod End retaining nut from the knuckle. The j 24319-b tool enables removal of the outer Tie Rod End from the Steering Knuckle before detaching it from the inner tie rod. The outer Tie Rod End installation requires attachment to the inner Tie Rod End followed by the Steering Knuckle before tightening the retaining nut to 55 n.m (40 lb ft). Screw on the outer Tie Rod End retaining bracket before securing its retaining bolts to 65 n.m (48 lb ft). First reinstall the tire with the wheel and conduct a four-wheel alignment and finish by tightening the jam nut to 65 n.m (48 lb ft).
