Cadillac XLR Wheel Bearing is one of the most important parts that help boost up the performance and the safety of Cadillac XLR cars. This Wheel Bearing is highly dependable and is used to ensure that the wheels rotate with ease while at the same time aligned in difference with the wheel and tire assembly. Three hub and bearing systems can be found in the Cadillac XLR models made between 2003 and 2009; the most prevalent of which is the case in which the hub and bearing assembly is integrated. It is also worth noting that this assembly often consists of an ABS sensor, which proves the significance of this system for ensuring the safety of transportation. The wheel bearing, too, needs to be inspected from time to time because a worn or damaged wheel bearing could cause noise, vibration and even lead to wheel loss, thus, affecting efficiency and safety. Continued from Designers of the Cadillac XLR have ensured that it has 50/50 weight distribution that combines with advanced Magnetic Ride Control; more importantly, it has the backing of a high-quality Wheel Bearing. Also, Cadillac XLR can be equipped with different configurations such as front-wheel drive configurations that could entail the removal of steering knuckle. Some of the unique attributes of the Cadillac XLR Wheel Bearing are that it is suitable to support high performance and thus sets it top in the car market. Aspiring from the rich tradition of luxury and performance, the Cadillac XLR backed by a very fine Wheel Bearing is still praised for its ride and handling characteristics making it one of Cadillac's flagship models.

Cadillac XLR Wheel Bearing Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the rear wheel bearing and hub on Cadillac XLR?
    A:
Begin work by raising and stabilizing the vehicle followed by taking off the tire and wheel unit. Unplug both Wheel Speed Sensor harness and esc rear position sensor connections before removing the brake components. Disconnect the shock absorber esc connection harness before splitting the outer Tie Rod End from the suspension knuckle. Release the Spindle Nut retainer and insert it apart from the hub components and then separate the upper Control Arm from the suspension knuckle and the knuckle from the lower Control Arm ball joint stud. Take out the suspension knuckle from the vehicle and then remove its Wheel Hub mounting bolts and hub and bearing assembly. The front and rear Wheel Hub/wheel speed sensors cannot be interchanged so install them with their precise part numbers. Place the Wheel Hub and bearing assembly onto the suspension knuckle and tighten all Wheel Hub mounting bolts to 130 n.m (96 lb ft). Secure the suspension knuckle first on the upper Control Arm and next on the lower Control Arm ball stud. First put on the Spindle Nut then place the washer and retainer before tightening the outer Tie Rod End stud to the suspension knuckle. Put back the brake rotor and caliper before adding the Wheel Speed Sensor connector and shock absorber esc connectors along with the esc rear position sensor link. Place the new tire and wheel set on the vehicle and let the vehicle down.
  • Q: How to replace the front wheel bearing and hub on Cadillac XLR?
    A:
You have to lift and stabilize the vehicle before taking out the tire and wheel for front Wheel Bearing and hub replacement. Use a single step to disconnect both wheel speed sensor and brake caliper components from the harness. Support the lower Control Arm with a jackstand after removing its connection to the stabilizer shaft link. Run j 42188 tool to disconnect the outer tie rod ball stud from the Steering Knuckle and the lower ball joint stud. You should now take out the hub and bearing assembly from the Steering Knuckle by removing its Wheel Hub mounting bolts. Put the hub and bearing assembly into the Steering Knuckle then secure its Wheel Hub mounting bolts by torquing them to 130 nm (96 lb ft). Put back the lower Control Arm ball stud to Steering Knuckle then take out the jackstand before putting the outer tie rod ball stud into position. Connect the wiring harness of the wheel speed sensor and bolt the stabilizer shaft link to the lower Control Arm. Put back the wheel assembly with tire and brake components. Let the vehicle down to its normal position.
