How to replace the water pump on the LC3 - 8 Cyl, 4.4L, SC, DOHC engine on Cadillac XLR?

You need to drain the cooling system according to ge 47716 procedure before you can replace the Water Pump in an lc3 engine with an 8 cylinder 4.4l sc dohc setup. First remove the air cleaner components and later the Water Pump Drive Belt. Disconnect both the Water Pump and generator Drive Belt tensioner. Use a drainage pan to take out all Water Pump bolts and remove the pulley pieces including its bolts at the same time. Take out the Water Pump and its seal ring while getting rid of the old seal and thoroughly wash the engine harbor. Check if the Water Pump faces any problems during this review. Put the new Water Pump onto the engine front cover with its seal and tighten the Water Pump bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Modify the Water Pump Pulley and screw its bolts until they reach 12 n.m of torque. Set the new pump in place alongside its tensioner and install both components before placing on the Water Pump Drive Belt. Reinstall the air cleaner unit then replace the cooling system as per ge 47716 method.
