Replace the ftp sensor before disconnecting the jet line insert connector from the crossover tube to the Fuel Tank opening. The fuel sender lock ring tool (J39765-A) enables technicians to remove the Fuel Pump module locking ring because this part functions as a spring-loaded mechanism which pushes the module upward after ring extraction. You must carefully detach the Fuel Pump module from the Fuel Tank with its jet lines connected but be careful to avoid damages to the fuel sender float arm. Use proper notation to mark jet line quick-connect locations before disconnecting them from the Fuel Pump module and extract the Fuel Pump module o-ring from the Fuel Tank opening. Check the jet line insert for damage before replacing it along with installing an unused jet line insert through the crossover tube to the Fuel Tank opening while using a new Fuel Pump module o-ring.
