How to replace the Tail Light on Cadillac CTS?

To change the tail lamp, start from opening the rear compartment and the removal of the rear compartment sill plate. Next, open the rear compartment trim panel and disconnect the tail lamp connector from the body main harness connector. Unfasten the fasteners holding the tail lamp to the body, then pull on the tail lamp assembly so that the clips (1 and 2) securing them get released. Pull the tail lamp harness to loosen tail lamp harness grommet from the body and remove tail lampassembly from the vehicle. For installation, attach the tail lamp to the body and attach the tail lamp harness. Make sure the tail lamp harness grommet is seated onto the body, then, install the tail lamp locators until the tail lamp retainers (1 and 2) are fully seated. Secure the tail lamp to the body with the fasteners, tightening them to 6 n.m (53 lb in). Connect the tail lamp harness connector to the body main harness connector, reposition the rear compartment trim panel, install the rear compartment sill plate, and lastly close the rear compartment.

How to replace the Tail Light/Turn Signal Lamp on Cadillac Escalade?

During replacement check that the headlamp switch is off and open the endgate. Loosen and take out the two screws that secure the tail/turn signal lamp assembly to the metal body. You will find 3 bulbs in the assembly one for parking and stopping, one for turning directions and one for back up lighting. Twist the bulb socket 1/4 turn left to disconnect the sockets from tail/turn lamps, after that easily remove bulbs from their holders. Turn the socket quarter-turn clockwise to connect new bulbs into the tail/turn lamp assembly. Reinstall the tail/turn signal lamp assembly to the vehicle by tightening its 2 screws to 1.6 n.m (14 lb in) torque. Survey the performance after shutting the endgate.
