Ckp system variation learn procedure is required after this engine replacement,
Engine Control Module (ECM), crankshaft damper, crankshaft, ckp sensor replacement, or any engine repairs that would disrupt the Crankshaft to the ckp sensor, regardless of dtc p0315 being posted. A scan tool must be in place to monitor components' signals, such as ckp sensor activity, camshaft signal activity (CMP) & engine coolants analogy (ECT); if the temperature of the coolant is not warm enough, idle the engine until it is at the correct temperature. Start by scanning the ecm for dtcs; if other dtcs are stored besides dtc p0315, check the dtc list - vehicle for details. Next, choose ckp system variation learn procedure from the menu options on the scan tools module setup menu and follow these procedures: perform the fuel cut-off for the applicable engine, prevent, block the drive, set the parking, which engages the park brake, set the transmission in park or neutral, turning off the air conditioner (A/C) by flipping the air conditioning control switch, turning the system off and on it cycling the ignition will move it from off to on position, and then pressing and holding the Brake Pedal, which starts and idles the engine, and bring the engine to a wide-open throttle (WOT) without passing the value of the calibrated fuel cut-off rpm. Release the throttle also when fuel cut-off and once the value is exceeded. While learning, release the throttle immediately if the engine decelerates, then allow the engine control to be moved back to the operator. The status of learn status will be shown on the scan tool. Learned this ignition; when learned this ignition; if dtc p0315 ran and passed, the ckp variation learn procedure is complete. In case of dtc p0315 failed or did not run, or in case of other dtcs set, consult the dtc list - vehicle for relevant information. Finally, turn off the ignition for 30 seconds after successfully completing the learn procedure.
