    Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser on Cadillac STS?
    A:
    All air conditioning professionals start their replacement work by recovering the refrigerant. The first step requires removing bolts securing the Power Steering Cooler before raising and supporting the vehicle. First remove the front air deflector retainers and front air deflector before you move to the lower air baffle push pin retainers. You should eliminate the upper bracket bolts from the condenser while also removing both lower mounting bolts and the discharge line bolt before detaching the condenser from its discharge line and discarding its original o-ring. After removing the condenser tube bolt you must disconnect the condenser tube while discarding the o-ring. The Power Steering Cooler must be rearranged so technicians can pull out the condenser. For a new condenser installation use the recommended amount of pag oil to be added during installation. Put in the condenser afterward you should move the Power Steering Cooler into position. Install the new o-ring to the condenser tube after connecting it to the condenser then torque the condenser tube bolt to 9 nm (80 lb in). The replacement line o-ring receives installation before joining the condenser with 9 nm (80 lb in) torque applied to the discharge line bolt. Secure both lower condenser mounting bolts to 5.4 nm (48 lb in) torque and the upper bracket bolts to the matching torque value. Replace the lower air baffle push pin retainers followed by installation of the front air deflector and its respective retainers. Set the vehicle at its lowest position before inserting Power Steering Cooler mounting bolts. Run system evacuation followed by recharging then conduct halogen detector testing on system fittings.
