How to replace the water pump (LY7) on Cadillac SRX?

You need to drain the cooling system before you take out the generator Drive Belt to begin Water Pump replacement (LY7). Use the en 46104 to hold the Water Pump Pulley safely before disconnecting both Water Pump Pulley bolts and removing the part. Unbolt and take out the Water Pump unit from its position while discarding the old Water Pump seal. Prepare both sides of the Water Pump before placing a fresh Water Pump seal and Water Pump. Keep to specified fastener type in their designated places along with blocking paints, lubricants and corrosion inhibitors from contact with fasteners. Mount the Water Pump bolts and snug them to 10 nm force (89 lb inch measurement). To install the Water Pump Pulley put the sealing washer from en 46104 in its grooves before tightening the two bolts to 12 nm (106 lb in). Put the generator belt back in place after filling the cooling system.
