Solving the input shaft seal requires beginning by removing the Transfer Case. Employing the seal remover (J 45278) with its hook end facing the seal lip while inserted next to the shaft proceed to turn the hook around sixty degrees before extracting the seal with the slide hammer w/adapter (J-2619-A). Use solvent to clean the area surrounding the seal as well as the input shaft from existing seal material. You should drive a new input seal into place with the driver handle (J 8092) and input seal installer (J 46269). Finally, reinstall the Transfer Case.
