Q: How to replace the emblem/nameplate on a pickup cab on Cadillac Escalade ESV?
A:
You must first protect and line up the emblem spot with tape before beginning work. Adjust the temperature of your heat gun to 25070 and keep it 152 mm away from the emblem/nameplate while heating the area in circles for 30 seconds. Use a plastic tool to remove the emblem/nameplate before cleaning the panel surface and back of the emblem/nameplate with a 3M scotch brite molding adhesive remover disk (part number 07501). Use varnish makers and painters (VMP) naptha to clean the pickup cab surface. The Pick Up Cab surface requires metal tape in specified dimensions before placing the sticker. Heat the pickup cab surface to at least 21°C (70°F) using the heat gun J 25070 but avoid contacting the emblem/nameplate adhesive side. Place the front side of the emblem/nameplate onto the pickup cab panel surface after you peel off its supply side padding. Press the emblem/nameplate onto its surface then roll it hand to create a strong bond. Check if the emblem is well adhered before removing the tape cover from the surrounding area.
