How to replace the accessory drive belt on Cadillac Escalade?

You must start replacement of the accessory Drive Belt by loosening the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor followed by removing the radiator inlet hose clip and the air cleaner outlet duct. A hex-head socket fitted breaker bar needs to be used on the Drive Belt tensioner bolt for clockwise rotation that reduces belt tension so you can remove it from all pulleys including the tensioner. Release the tension on the Drive Belt before removing the breaker bar together with the socket. Clean all pulley belt surfaces and inspect them thoroughly. After placing the Drive Belt across all pulleys bar the idler, use the breaker bar and hex-head socket to engage the tensioner for clockwise rotation which reduces belt tension. The Drive Belt should be lowered under the idler pulley then you should slowly relax the tension before taking out the breaker bar and socket. Adjust the Drive Belt according to its correct position by lining up the Throttle Body stud attachment marker with the Throttle Body before attaching the outlet duct from the air cleaner. Reinstall the radiator inlet hose clip before securing all air cleaner outlet duct clamp screws at their respective locations with torque set to 7 nm (62 inch lbs.).
