In order to change radiator surge tank outlet hose/pipe on 4.8l, 5.3l, and 6.0l engines, first discharge the cooling system. Unclamp the air cleaner outlet duct by the
Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor and then you may pull it off. If equipped without any rpo c36 auxiliary heater, then take out the surge tank/heater outlet hose from its mounting clipped; if provided with rpo c36, then the same as well. Use the surge tank outlet hose (black connector) using j 43181 heater line quick connect release tool by bringing down the tool around the hose and pulling its own quick connect end. Skinnyfists the outlet hose and peel it from the heater and blower module. Reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamp at the surge tank, be followed by removal to the surge tank outlet hose from no surge tank and the
Water Pump, followed by the removal of the surge tank outlet hose compound rated for long usage. For installation, first, the surge tank outlet hose will be installed, connected to the Water Pump, and placed on the clamp. Then carry out the connection of surge tank outlet hose to the surge tank and clamp the area. If with rpo c36, attach the outlet hose to the heater and blower module to make a distinct click. Install surge tank/heater outlet hose to the mounting clip, then reinstall air cleaner outlet duct by aligning with the Throttle Body attaching stud. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor to 7 nm (62 lb in), and lastly, fill the cooling system.
