  The first step for inner Tie Rod quiet valve replacement requires gear steering removal from the vehicle alongside inspection for corrosion or contamination on the Tie Rod. Steering gear replacement becomes necessary in cases of contamination or corrosion. Before moving the inner Tie Rod you must not alter the steering gear preload adjustment because it will cause damage to the components. Secure the Rack and Pinion Boot and place the gear in a vise. The inner Tie Rod assembly shock dampener needs removal before placing it back onto the rack. The pipe wrench should be used on the rack adjacent to the inner Tie Rod housing while using a wrench on the flats of the inner Tie Rod housing toiciae a counterclockwise rotation for rack and housing separation. The technician needs to repeat these steps to both the inner Tie Rod housing and Tie Rod. Before reinstalling the inner Tie Rod and rack, remove any remaining loctite(R) from their threaded surfaces. Slide the shock dampener onto the rack and clean threads before installing loctite(R) 262 or equivalent on inner Tie Rod threads if needed for installation. Put the inner Tie Rod onto the rack and fasten it using a pipe wrench with j 34028 and torque wrench until it reaches 100 n.m (74 lb ft). Perform the same procedure on the inner Tie Rod adjusting the assembly housing position correctly to the male rack. Use a 0.25 mm gage to test if the stakes would fit between rack and housing stake. Finish by putting the shock dampener over the inner Tie Rod housing then rebuild the Rack And Pinion boot before repositioning the steering gear.
