The intermediate shaft needs to be connected to the steering gear followed by installation of the intermediate shaft pinch bolt and torquing it to 45 nm (33 lb ft). Afterward, install the intermediate shaft seal. Use the ball studs of the electronic suspension position sensor link to reconnect to lower control arms. Install the steering gear heat shield followed by its bolts with a torque specification of 9 nm (80 lb in).
