How to replace the A/C Switch control assembly on Cadillac DeVille?

You will first need to remove the instrument panel center trim plate to replace the control assembly. Then, with the help of the locking tabs, found on the four corner edges of the hvac control assembly, depress them and yank the hvac control off the instrument panel or ip (IP). Then remove the electrical connectors from the hvac control and also remove the hvac control assembly from the instrument panel. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Disconnect the air conditioning compressor clamps, 2. Disconnect the hazardous air bag (HABM) control module, and 3. Disconnect the hvac control, directly. For installing, connect the hvac electrical connectors and install the hvac control assembly into the ip making sure it is pushed in the ip opening to engage the retainers. Lastly, install the trim plate on the instrument panel center.
