How to replace the primary fuel tank module on Cadillac CTS?

The first step to change the primary fuel tank module starts with disconnecting the electrical connector and fuel tank hoses from the module. Use the Fuel Tank Sender Wrench (J 45747) to turn the cam lock ring counter-clockwise yet keep the tool safe from the fuel pipes. The primary fuel tank module can be accessed for the transfer tube when you lift it upward just enough after removing the cam lock ring while remembering the module turns from horizontal to vertical during removal. Remove the transfer tube from the primary fuel tank module through the procedure of first unlocking the locking mechanism and pulling out the tube. Pull out both the primary fuel tank module together with its seal before discarding it for replacement. Mount a new primary fuel tank module seal onto the module while directing its seal bead towards the fuel tank.
