How to replace the exhaust pipe extension on Cadillac CTS?

Perform these steps to replace the exhaust Tail Pipe extension by first raising the vehicle then supporting it. Separate the complete exhaust system from its attachment to both the rear suspension hanger rods and the Tail Pipe hanger rods. Mark the steel tip location on the Exhaust Pipe before removing welds at the top and bottom of the tip and carefully removing the entire steel tip. Perform cleaning operations on the weld that remains on the Exhaust Pipe. Install the new exhaust tip to the Exhaust Pipe maintaining its alignment with the pre-made disassembly mark. Safely reattach the exhaust system to rear suspension hanger rods and Tail Pipe hanger rods before verifying the exhaust tip alignment with the vehicle. After tacking the exhaust tip you should take out the exhaust system from both rear suspension hanger rods and Tail Pipe hanger rods. Complete the exhaust tip welding process on the Exhaust Pipe by using the same points where original welds appeared before securing the exhaust system back to its suspension hanger rods and Tail Pipe hanger rods.
