Before working on the Spark Plug wires always flip the Ignition Switch to off position. Start your work by taking out the fuel injector sight shield. Before removing Spark Plug wires (2,4,6) from the rear spark plugs find their original location and twist Spark Plug boots 1/2 turn for release then lift the heat shield up with the Spark Plug heat shield removal tool (J 38491). Repeat this process for the Spark Plug wires (1,3,5) located at the engine's front. The ignition coils must be separated from their spark plugs by unplugging all wires and removing all retaining clips at the engine's rear, front, and top sections. After wire removal completely disassemble all boot heat shields and Spark Plug wire conduit before storing retaining clips for future use when replacing the Spark Plug wires. Installation begins with positioning Spark Plug wires on the engine then installing retaining clips while connecting the wires to ignition coils before placing wires (1,3,5) together with wires (2,4,6) which lead to respective spark plugs located at the engine's front and rear positions. The final step includes placing back the fuel injector sight shield.
