  The engine coolant drainage from the engine cooling system represents the first step before replacing the Oil Cooler. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the Oil Filter while also disconnecting the knock sensor electrical connector. Start by removing the Oil Cooler outlet hose from the cooler while setting it aside before removing the aforesaid connector. Next remove the Oil Cooler inlet hose clamp followed by removing the Oil Cooler itself to clean and inspect the mating surface between the engine block. Position the Oil Cooler along with its inlet hose clamp so the seal sits correctly with a thin layer of engine oil. Screw down the Oil Cooler connector to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Mount the Oil Cooler outlet hose on the Oil Cooler before installing the Oil Filter followed by reattaching the knock sensor electric wires. After lowering the vehicle workers will add engine coolant to the engine cooling system and check for necessary oil levels before inspecting the Oil Cooler for any leaks.

  Use sealer p/n 21485278 to treat the Oil Cooler hose fitting threads before installation begins. Place the Oil Cooler hose fitting before tightening it to 19 n.m using 14 lb ft torque. First tighten the Oil Cooler hose fitting with sealer (P/N 21485278) then connect the Oil Cooler inlet hose clamp to the Oil Cooler hose fitting followed by the installation of the Oil Cooler and the Oil Cooler inlet hose clamp. Disassemble the Oil Cooler connector carefully by using a torque wrench for securing at 50 n.m torque (37 lb ft). After the hoses and pipe installation begins put on the lower Oil Cooler outlet hose to the Oil Cooler while connecting the upper Oil Cooler hose to the thermostat bypass pipe.
