  The replacement of Fuel Pressure Regulator requires lowering fuel system pressure. First disconnect the Fuel Pressure Regulator vacuum line before using a screw to remove its retaining mechanism. The Fuel Pressure Regulator should be detached from the Fuel Rail by using a shop towel to absorb any spillage while you lift and twist the regulator. First remove the retainer along with spacer bracket before extracting the Fuel Pressure Regulator from the engine fuel return pipe along with its inlet o-ring. Connect the fuel return line in advance to stop rotation of the regulator to avoid damage to the spacer bracket and retainer that could lead to a fuel leak. Testing and cleaning operations on the Fuel Pressure Regulator should avoid compressed air because it leads to damage while filtration based on gasoline application and complete immersion in solvent baths must be avoided for the regulator. Apply clean engine oil on the new inlet o-ring then position it onto the regulator inlet. Implement the fuel return pipe to the regulator before securing the new retainer and spacer bracket into the Fuel Rail slot. Forcefully connect the pressure regulator to the Fuel Rail by tightening the engine fuel return pipe nut to 17 n.m (13 lb ft). Follow these steps to reinstall the vacuum line and attach it with a screw which needs tightness set at 8.5 n.m (76 lb in). Check that the retainer and spacer bracket fully connects to the Fuel Rail slots through regulator pull strength. In the last step check for leaks by switching on and off the ignition for two seconds followed by ten seconds of inactivity then checking for leaks.
