The service begins by taking out the EGR Valve studs (4, 6) and EGR Valve along with the EGR Valve Gasket. The mating surfaces need inspection for the gasket before installing a new EGR Valve Gasket along with the EGR Valve. Fasten the EGR Valve studs (4, 6) by tightening them to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Secure the egr pipe on the EGR Valve with the egr pipe bolt at 25 n.m (18 lb ft). The engine harness electrical connector must be installed on the EGR Valve and the vehicle should be raised after following these steps. Set the transaxle fill tube to its standard operating position before adding the fill tube nut to the EGR Valve while securing it at 13 n.m (115 lb in). Mount the transaxle fill tube bolt onto the transaxle case followed by torqueing it to 13 n.m (115 lb in), after which lower the vehicle. Reinstall both components which are the air cleaner outlet duct and the intake manifold cover.
