To service and repair the defroster actuator, start by removing the right instrument panel insulator panel and the i/p compartment. Disconnect defroster actuator vacuum lines and the orange vacuum one from recirculation actuator, then apply the hand Vacuum Pump. Take down the defroster actuator from the way it is fixed to the hvac module case. With the hand Vacuum Pump , pop the recirculation actuator door all the way up, retrieve the defroster actuator and rotate it to the right and pull up into the small space between the back of the dash, and the hvac module. Depress the arm of the defroster door and remove the defroster actuator. For installation, connect the defroster actuator to the defroster door arm and snap it on the hvac module. Connect the vacuum line to the actuator, hydrate the pump , and reconnect the Vacuum Pump to the recirculation actuator. Lastly, re-install the i/p compartment and the right instrument insulator panel.

To replace the left air temperature actuator, you must remove the left instrument panel insulator and the knee bolster. Lift the actuator off after you pull off the left temperature actuator's electrical connectors and remove the mounting screws. For installation, place the new left air temperature actuator with slots of the electric actuator driver to align with the flats on the shaft, while putting the slot for the locating hole align with the locating pin on the HVAC module case. Push the actuator driver onto the shaft until it is seated with the mounting holes touching the mounting bolts of the HVAC Module case. Slide the actuator driver onto the shaft until it is fully seated, with the mounting holes flush against the mounting bolts on the HVAC module case. Screw in the mounting screws and secure with 1.5 N.m (13 lb in). Replace the knee bolster and the left insulator of the instrument panel. Reconnect the electrical connector to the actuator. Finally, re-calibrate the actuator.
