Start by removing the lower Intake Manifold and right or left valve rocker cover while keeping all valve train components in order to reinstall them exactly as they were with identical mating surfaces. Begin by removing the valve Rocker Arm bolt(s) then proceed to remove the valve Rocker Arm(s) push rod(s), push rod guide plate(s), valve lifter guide bolts, and valve lifter guide(s). Clean the valve train parts as well as the gasket mating surfaces until the valve lifters and cam lobes have been inspected for any signs of wear. Place prelude (GM P/N 12345501 or equivalent) to dip the valve lifters before repositioning them to their original spots. Attach the valve lifter guide(s) to their position using valve lifter guide bolts that need tightening to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). The installation process requires you to start by replacing the push rod guide plates along with push rods, valve rocker arms and valve Rocker Arm bolts followed by the right or left valve rocker cover and the lower Intake Manifold.
