Take off the worn reluctor, examine the shaft and pickup face and slide the new reluctor on with teeth matching the pickup gap. Make the gap to spec with a feeler gauge, reinstall rotor and cap, reconnect battery, start engine, adjust distributor until idle is smooth and timing marks are in line.
