Start by cutting the swage ring off the halfshaft bar using a hand grinder but maintain the halfshaft bar's integrity. Using side cutters remove the large tripot joint seal retaining clamp then discard it. Pull the inboard seal apart from the trilobal tripot bushing at its largest diameter until it removes itself from the joint along the halfshaft bar. You should use Snap Ring Pliers (J 8059) to spread the spacer ring following the removal of the tripot joint spider together with the halfshaft bar housing.
