In servicing and repairing the Crankshaft Position Sensor, start by using a scan tool and checking the powertrain at the control module for the dtcs, and that if there any other dtcs except p1336 do refer to the dtc list to find additional information. Go to the crankshaft position (CKP) variation learn procedure on the scan tool, and watch for the fuel cut-off on the engine in question. Follow the scan tool's instructions: block the drive wheels, operating the park brake, cycling ignition from off to on, operate and hold brake pedal, cranking and idling the engine, turn off a/c, and the automatic transmission in park, or in neutral for the manual one. The scan tool will observe the activities of ckp sensor, cmp sensor, as well as the engine coolant (ECT); should the ect not be warm enough, idle the engine till it reaches the appropriate temperature. Run the ckp system variation learn routine at the tool, and during the process, open the throttle instantly as soon as the engine begins to loosen up to enable the engine control go back to the operator. Slowly inch the engine to the observed rpm and release the throttle at the point of fuel cut-off. The "learn status" should be displayed on the scan tool. Learned this ignition." if no message appears and no other dtcs are established, look for symptoms on the engine. Its ise, the presence of dtc, if so, the contact the dtc list for further information. Finally, turn off the ignition after entering successfully the learn procedure for 30 seconds.
