How to Remove and Replace a Parking Brake Cable on 2010 GMC Sierra 1500?

You must release the park brake and disable the automatic cable adjuster before starting intermediate parking brake cable (JH6 JH7) replacement. Add the vehicle to a lift position. Drilling a 3 mm (1/8 in) hole through the dimple in the connector allows separation of the front park brake cable from the intermediate cable connector. The same procedure should be performed on the left parking brake cable. First remove the intermediate park brake cable then connect the left park brake cable to the intermediate park brake cable connector before uniting the front park brake cable with the same connector. Enable the automatic adjuster of the park brake cables while adjusting the brake through specifications matching the 1500 Drum Brake, 1500 Disc Brake, 2500/3500 SRW, or 3500 DRW vehicles.
