2010 GMC Acadia Power Steering Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Power Steering Hose on 2010 GMC Acadia?
A: Start the replacement of power steering gear outlet pipe/hose by draining as much steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as feasible. The hoisting and elevation of the vehicle must occur before placing drain pans beneath it. Before removing the power steering gear outlet hose the technician must first remove the power steering gear outlet clip bolt then the power steering gear inlet and outlet pipe clip bolt. Disconnect the steering gear by pulling the power steering outlet hose from its position. Remove the power steering outlet hose bracketer bolt to discard the crimp clamp part of the power steering gear outlet hose. Remove both segments of the power steering gear outlet hose (3 and 4) by disconnecting the rubber segment from the metal segment and discard all plastic retaining clips. The power steering gear outlet hose must be removed from the vehicle. Before installation insert the new power steering gear outlet hose inside the vehicle space while placing a fresh power steering gear outlet hose clamp on it. Position the rubber segment on the metal segment of the power steering gear outlet hose (3, 4) followed by crimping the new power steering gear outlet hose crimp clamp. Secure the power steering gear outlet hose bracket bolt with 8 nm (71 lb in). Connect the steering gear outlet hose to its destination before tightening the power steering gear inlet hose retaining plate bolt to 12 nm (106 lb in). The power steering gear inlet and outlet pipe clip bolt needs tightening to 9 nm (80 lb in). After cleaning off any remaining fluid you must remove drain pans while performing a power steering system fill-up and bleeding process.
