2010 Chevrolet Corvette Clutch Slave Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Clutch Slave Cylinder on 2010 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Every clutch actuator cylinder replacement begins with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable from the power supply. Start by taking out the clutch master cylinder rod retainer while also retrieving the clutch master cylinder rod from the clutch pedal after removing the left instrument panel lower insulator panel. Start by removing the windshield washer solvent container followed by vehicle support elevation. Separate the Clutch Hose from its clutch master cylinder connection by removing the Clutch Hose retaining clip while protecting both ends of the coupling device from damage and outside contamination. First extract the Clutch Slave Cylinder bracket with its bolt before separating the driveline support assembly and transaxle. Separate the Clutch Hose from the clutch actuator cylinder through removal of its connection retaining clip while providing protection against dirt for both components. Start by removing the clutch actuator cylinder mounting bolts then pull out the cylinder from the driveline support assembly. Mount the clutch actuator cylinder onto the driveline support assembly then put in the mounting bolts and torque them to 12 nm (106 lb in). After installing the Clutch Hose connection retaining clip, attach the Clutch Hose to the clutch actuator cylinder and verify connection by performing firm push and pull actions on the fittings. After reinstallation of the transaxle and driveline support assembly attach the Clutch Slave Cylinder bracket with its bolt secured to 50 nm (37 lb ft). Insert the Clutch Hose connection retaining clip onto the components before connecting the clutch master cylinder hose to the clutch actuator cylinder hose while confirming proper attachment. After checking that clutch hydraulic hoses are free of twists and kinks you should install the clutch actuator cylinder hose to its retaining clip located beneath the Brake Master Cylinder. First lower the vehicle then put back the windshield washer solvent container but make sure to fasten the clutch pedal with the clutch master cylinder rod retainer while connecting the clutch master cylinder rod. Screw the left instrument panel lower insulator panel back in place then connect the negative Battery Cable and torque the bolt to 15 nm (11 lb ft). Finish by setting up the transmitter then performing clutch hydraulic system bleeding procedures.
