2010 Chevrolet Corvette A/C Hose Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Hose on 2010 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The first step to replace the air conditioning compressor hose involves recovering refrigerant from your system. You should detach the radiator support by paying attention to how the A/C Compressor hose runs from compressor to condenser then slow down airflow through the exposed a/c components by putting caps on tubes or applying tape over them. The A/C Compressor hose assembly bolt must be eliminated from the a/c condenser fitting before disconnecting the hose assembly from the fitting along with discarding the sealing washer followed by capping or tape sealing of the a/c condenser fitting. First disconnect and remove the a/c tube connector attached to both the evaporator outlet tube and the hose assembly before you disconnect the tube from the hose assembly itself. After separation apply caps or tape to each end of these components. To begin these repair steps you must first elevate the vehicle, detach the wheel assembly from the right front tire and for the 7.0l application remove compressor mounting bolts and nuts to lower the compressor. Unscrew the retaining bolt of the A/C Compressor hose assembly then disconnect it from the compressor before disposing the sealing washers by capping or taping off the A/C Compressor. Extract the hose assembly from the vehicle's structure. The new A/C Compressor hose assembly should be positioned correctly in the vehicle then the cap or tape from the A/C Compressor should be removed before installing new sealing washers onto the compressor hose assembly. Attach the A/C Compressor hose assembly following retention bolt tightening to 20 nm (15 lb ft). Install compressor bolts and nuts while positioning the compressor strategically when the vehicle has a 7.0l model. Lower the vehicle and reinstall the right front tire followed by the wheel assembly after removing the evaporator outlet tube cap or tape. New o-rings go on the evaporator outlet tube before connecting it to the A/C Compressor hose assembly and installing the a/c tube connector. Install a new sealing washer onto the compressor hose assembly then connect it to the a/c condenser fitting and torque the bolt to 16 nm (12 lb ft). Reinstall the radiator support after performing an a/c system recharge and running a halogen leak test on fittings using tool j 39400-a.
