How to replace the tailgate latch and cable assembly on 2010 Chevrolet Colorado?

Open and support the tailgate and remove the cover so the tailgate latch and cable assembly can be replaced. Remove the clip securing the latch rods and remove the support cable. Remove the bolts holding the assembly and install a new assembly making sure to install it with the correct orientation. Reattach the support cable and put back on the cover.
