Start by shutting down the ignition and taking away the engine oil dipstick indicator. Next, remove the electrical connector heat protector from the electrical connector and unplug the coolant temperature sensor electrical connector. Remove the coolant temperature sensor. For installation, tighten the new coolant temperature sensor to 22 Nm (16 lb ft) and fit the electrical connector back on. Carefully push the electrical connector heat protector back onto the electrical connector. Finally, inspect the and fill the cooling system if necessary by following the procedure for Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) and Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716).
