How to replace the upper control arm on 2010 Cadillac STS?

To replace the upper control arm, first lift the vehicle and support it, then the tire and wheel is to be removed. Then, after removing the upper control arm to knuckle retaining nut, make sure not to move the ball stud while taking off the parts apart. Disassemble the upper control arm from knuckle using the J 43631 (Ball Joint Remover). Then, clear out the moulding nuts and screws on the upper then part of the control arm to frame, and clear out the upper control arm from the vehicle. For installation purposes, install all the fasteners loosely before tightening. Start by mounting the upper control arm to vehicle followed with mounting the upper control arm to frame mounting bolts/nuts. Join the upper control arm to the knuckle being careful to follow fastener precautions and then join the upper control arm to knuckle retaining nut and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft) with an additional 210 degrees. Finally, securely fasten the new upper control arm to frame bolts to 120 Nm (89 lb ft), refit the tire and wheel, and position the vehicle.
