- Q: How to replace the starter motor on 2010 Cadillac SRX?A: The procedure to replace the Starter motor starts by switching off ignition and removing the negative Battery Cable. Proceed by removing the Secondary Air Injection Pump next. Start by disconnecting the Starter at the positive cable nut with terminal followed by removing the engine wiring harness nut along with engine harness terminal . Begin by detaching the bolts securing the Starter then remove the Starter from inside the motor compartment. During installation position the Starter motor correctly while fastening its mounting bolts to 58 nm (43 lb ft) torque specifications. Tighten the battery positive cable terminal and nut on the solenoid to 15 nm (9 lb ft) before torquing the engine harness terminal and its nut to 6 nm (53 lb in). Place the Secondary Air Injection Pump together with its bracket before you connect the battery negative cable.
